Emeritus Society

The College Foundation Emeritus Society consists of 115 alumni who have served as trustees of the College Foundation or as former board members of the Arts & Sciences Alumni Council.

To achieve its goal of active emeritus involvement, the Foundation organized two initiatives to establish regular, dedicated communications with the trustees emeritus: an annual Emeritus Weekend in Charlottesville and the Emeritus Newsletter, published twice a year. The level of enthusiasm and quality of response to these two initiatives has been very gratifying and encouraging.

The College has already realized some of the benefits of these early initiatives, and the Emeritus Society leadership is actively working with the dean and others on additional ways the trustees emeritus can expand their support for the College, its students and the University.
